THE $200 MILLION MARRIAGE / Chapter 3 / 10

Chapter 3 - THE $200 MILLION SECRET

Evelyn began a new life.

She bought a small bookstore in Boston.

No bodyguards.

No family.

No mafia.

No father.

No Dante.

She told herself she was happy.

But every night she dreamed of him.

Meanwhile, Vivian discovered something terrifying.

Dante had begun investigating Evelyn.

He asked questions about her childhood.

Her mother.

Her bracelet.

The night she had supposedly saved him.

Vivian panicked.

She called Evelyn.

“You need to come back.”

“No.”

“Dante suspects something.”

Evelyn's voice remained calm.

“Then tell him the truth.”

“You promised nobody would know.”

“You signed the agreement.”

Vivian lowered her voice.

“I'll pay you more.”

Evelyn laughed bitterly.

“You already bought the life I wanted to forget.”

Then she hung up.

That night, Dante confronted Vivian.

“You lied to me.”

Vivian's face went pale.

“What?”

“You were never at the warehouse that night.”

“I was.”

“No.”

He placed an old photograph on the table.

“The girl who saved me had a scar here.”

He touched his eyebrow.

“She got it protecting me.”

Vivian said nothing.

Dante's eyes became terrifying.

“Where did you get the story?”

Vivian broke.

“Evelyn told me everything.”

Dante froze.

“Evelyn?”

“She offered me two hundred million dollars.”

Silence.

Dante's face became completely emotionless.

“She gave you me?”

Vivian nodded.

“She wanted to disappear.”

Dante stood.

“You lied to me for money.”

“No. I love you.”

“You stole someone else's life.”

Vivian cried.

Dante walked away.

Then his phone rang.

His security chief spoke urgently.

“Boss, we've located Evelyn.”

Dante stopped.

“Where?”

“Boston.”

May you like

For the first time in months…

Dante smiled.
