Chapter 10 - A New Legacy

Six months later.

The spring flowers were blooming across the manicured lawns of the Moretti estate, filling the air with the sweet scent of jasmine and fresh rain.

Inside the grand ballroom, white roses covered the tables once again—not for a forced, cold engagement dinner built on deceit, but for a wedding rooted entirely in truth.

The guest list was small, intimate, and stripped of the fake socialites and treacherous syndicate capos of the past. Only true friends, loyal guards like Dominic, and family sat at the tables.

Standing near the front altar, dressed in a simple, elegant ivory gown that felt a million miles away from my old coffee-stained scrubs, I looked out across the room.

Sitting in the front row, looking healthier, stronger, and happier than he had in years, was my father, Arthur Reed, smiling proudly as he watched his daughter prepare to start a new chapter.

And standing right beside me at the altar was Luca Moretti.

He wore a classic black tuxedo, but instead of the cold, untouchable aura of fear that had defined his reputation for years, his face was illuminated by a warm, radiant smile as he slipped a simple platinum band onto my finger.

As the priest pronounced us husband and wife, the applause of our small family echoed through the sunlit hall.

Later that evening, after the toasts had been made and the music began to play softly across the marble floor, Luca led me out onto the private balcony overlooking the glittering skyline of Chicago.

He wrapped his arms around my waist from behind, resting his chin comfortably on my shoulder as we watched the city lights twinkle in the distance.

"You know," Luca murmured softly into my ear, "I still have my father's old Army jacket hanging in the master closet."

I smiled, leaning back against his chest. "Should I tell the new housekeeping staff to throw it away?"

May you like

Luca chuckled, tightening his embrace.

"Never," he whispered, kissing the side of my neck. "Some things are too valuable to ever let go."
